SAGC ANNOUNCES IT'S NEWEST LIFE MEMBER:
At the December 15th General Membership/Yearly Awards/Holiday meeting, in coming President for 2012 Raymond Fox presented to out going President Mr. Jim Lima, pursuant to Article 2, Section 2.02(d) of the By Laws of the Santa Anita Golf Club, having received and certified a petition submitted by more than the required number of members of the Club and with unanimous approval by the Board of Directors, a Life Membership in the Santa Anita Golf Club. Congratulations Jim.
    
SAMC WINS WEEK 1 SCGA TEAM PLAY MATCH!!!
Last Saturday January 14th the Dawgs from SAMC got off to a roaring start in the first week of team play action.
SAMC beat Los Verdes at home 30-18 behind the strong play of our mid-handicappers, as they won 22 of a possible 24 points to put the match out of reach. 
"If you have a sombrero, throw it into the air!" newcomer to the team Juan Ramos screamed as he and SCGA vet Jeff "All in" Weber trounsed their oppents 6-0. Captain Mike's "do as I say not as I do" message to his team seemed to work wonders as many players played on or near their handicaps unlike their captain.
Chef Hector fed both teams with an incredible mexican dish as both teams shared war stories over a few spirits.
The team will be back in action this Saturday as we travel down to Los Verdes as they look for revenge against the Dawg's.
